Dismas House provides housing, programs and services to men and women recently released from incarceration. Our mission is to provide them with the support and tools to successfully re-enter society as contributing members. The former offenders share the house with area college students and together, they create a positive living environment. Residents receive support from 100's of volunteers and caring staff members as they reconcile with their families and the greater community. Dismas Designs, a social enterprise, provides Dismas residents with job training to prepare them to rejoin the workforce. Items created by the residents are sold to the public to ensure the continuation of the program. Dismas House is faith-based. It is funded through donations, fund raising events, private and government grants and residents'fees. The Dismas House program has been recognized nationally as an effective program in reducing crime among the "at risk" population.
